DAY 7 - lots of options

We've been going strong for 6 days straight and decided last night that we'd take things a bit slower today.  Not that there aren't many many many more things to see in Paris, but we want to make sure we savor the limited time we have left here.

So, we are going to see a few sights for sure but took the time to sleep in a bit later (7am for me and 8 for the others) and enjoyed a cup of coffee and a croissant leisurely.

First up we are walking across the Pont des Arts and heading to see a beautiful church:

Saint Chappell

About to cross Pont des Arts (the love lock bridge)

The French government has been removing the locks recently and the ones that remain are only on the sides of the bridge.  They were weighing it down and they didn't want it to be structurally unsound.
The remaining locks -
Please do not add any more locks!!!

We arrive at the church to a line.  They only let in a few at a time.

The queue at St Chappell - :(

My pics don't do it justice - it truly was a beautiful chapel:

 St Chappell
Le cafe!  We were famished and grabbed a seat at a cafe across the street - Les Deux Palais.  We snagged an outside table to watch the crowds walk by.

OK - it was not great food (Wendy would deem it "a crap hole".  But, we were desperately hungry, needed la toilette, and just stopped in to nosh and have a very bad bloody mary.  Our one (eh) meal in Paris.  Here's the evidence:

We left the cafe and walked to Notre Dame.

 Food trucks in Paris:
 Waiting for the train:
At one stop 2 guys boarded the train right next to us, and they were so talented.
Lovely musicians on le metro:

 Place de la Concorde
We then headed back to our flat to regroup.

A shot of the "beautiful" le toilette in our courtyard surrounded by jasmine ;)
THE best boulanger in Paris - Eric Kayser!  No question, this artisan boulanger was the best in Paris.  We went here for baguettes, croissants and one day a sandwich.  Bread will never taste the same....
Beautiful cupcakes on display nearby:
We decided to have a picnic along the Seine in the early afternoon.  We picked up some baguette at Eric Kayser, some great wine and cheeses and meats and olives, and walked the brief trek to the Seine.  It was a magical, surreal experience that I'll be thinking about for a long time.

Ubiquitous shot in front of the Louvre with people in the background doing the "look, I'm touching the tip of the pyramids" pic. So cheesy!

 Shop, shop, shop

We arrive at a Longchamp - HAD to pick up some French handbags!
