DAY 3 = HARROD'S, HIGH TEA (and hangovers!)

Today we're heading out to shop, shop, shop!  Where better to do that than the World's Greatest Department Store - - - HARROD'S!!!

It's another GORGEOUS day in London (you don't say that very often), so we're all looking forward to getting out in the sun, doing more biking, walking and hope to squeeze in a run this afternoon.

After a late night last evening however, we're moving a bit slow this morning. ;)

But we're going to shop and nibble our way through Harrod's - - - then this afternoon we're meeting up with family and friends for an experience of a lifetime - HIGH TEA at The Savoy!

Here goes....

We decided to walk to Harrod's, through Kensington again ~ 30 minutes from our flat.  Beautiful gardens on a beautiful day!

Such a great name:
And shocker - Caroline and I end up in the shoe department....

We are back at the flat now, resting up a bit before sprucing up a bit and going to The Savoy for some highbrow High Tea.  Tata for now....

HIGH TEA TIME!!!

We have reservations at the famous The Savoy hotel at 3:45PM for Afternoon Tea with family and extended family.

Driving up to the magnificent Savoy:
We got there early so went into the American Bar whose hostess, "Stevie", was from Atlanta, Georgia!!! Small world - went to Brookwood High School!

We hook up with Sarah, Emma, Bebe and Katie for a memorable afternoon...

 Finger sandwiches
But champagne before tea: Rose champagne
Brut champagne
Lemon curd, fresh preserves and butter to go with the scones
My tea choice? Peppermint!  So so good!
Beautiful dessert selections:

We had SO much fun!  They treated us royally and even though I'm not sure any of us ever want to eat another thing again, all was delicious and the experience was a once in a lifetime thing.  It was very expensive and the afternoon tea isn't perhaps the healthiest of meals, but it was very very fun.

We're back at the flat - deciding our next move.

****Ross located a secret hidden rooftop with a sitting area that we had no idea about, so all gladly opted for that instead this evening!

The rooftop was so quaint and offered great views of our area in Notting Hill.  And Doug and Ross were able to enjoy their newly purchased cuban cigars!  We had a ball!

Afterwards we had some fish and chips from nearby Fish House of Notting Hill - wonderful!!!

Views of Notting Hill from the roof of our flat:

 Happy guys!
A pigeon watching over us - we were probably in HIS space!

FISH AND CHIPS (we all got cod) - - - with EXTRA malt vinegar!!! So good!

Another great day in London wrapped up!  Till tomorrow's adventures...
