After our incredible experience with Wendy Lyn, we walked back to the flat, rested a tad and then bought some wine, cigars for the guys and had a lovely time in the courtyard of our flat in the afternoon:
Some great wine - enjoyed in the courtyard of our flat in Paris (while the guys smoke cigars):
We did a bit of shopping down the street at the famous Lauderee (known for their macaroons). We found that they are NOT THE best in Paris however. Go to Pierre Hermes if you want THE best. But Lauderee is delicious as well. And their stores, and their packaging is so beautiful:A stop for Lauderee macaroons:
Beautiful window display:
After months and months of trying, I FINALLY snagged a reservation at FRENCHIE! I was so so excited to go to this restaurant! It did not disappoint! Wendy had called them in advance so we had their sommelier Aurelian hand picking our wines for the evening based on what we liked earlier at the wine bar with her. We even had the owner (Gregory Marchand) bring us our dessert and welcome us. Truly amazing.
The name "Frenchie" was the nickname given to Gregory Marchand when he worked in the kitchen of Jamie Oliver's "Fifteen" in London. And the name stuck with him.
Le menu:
Amazing bread and even better olive oil:They just began bringing out food - all was just crazy good!
duck foie gras with shiitake, apricot chutney - just sick good!
Squid, bacon, kale with hazelnuts
John Dory, clams, white asparagus, verbena butter
Les Deux Magots---after dinner we hooked up with Atlanta/former GT friends who were staying in a little boutique hotel around the corner from us!!! Ben and Doug played foot ball together at Georgia Tech and they were in Paris celebrating Olivia's college graduation (from Tulane) and Liz' birthday.

Caroline, me, Liz Utt and Olivia Utt:
Great catching up with these old (and new) friends! We all strolled back to our places after drinks and bid adieu!
Bonne nuit!
